Heavy rain continued to loom over the islands two months after the typhoon. The compounded impact of the typhoon and the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the living condition of many Dinagat residents. How should an individual prepare for a typhoon?

1. Make reinforcements to prevent damage. Check roof tiles, slates, etc. for looseness. ...
2. Ensure proper drainage. Ensure that gutters, rain pipes and similar are clean and free from leaves, dirt, etc. ...
3. Fasten objects that may be blown away. Reinforce TV antennas and other objects as necessary.

Right before a typhoon hits, your priorities should be securing enough food and drinking water for everyone in the household for at least three days (rescue usually arrives 72 hours after a disaster hits). If you have pets, make sure to have enough food and water for them, as well.
